Editing Layers
Learn how to edit an existing map layer
Existing map layers can be edited using the Covram web app only.
Changing the layer name or default colour
To change the layer name or default colour of an existing layer follow the steps below:
- Sign in to the Covram web app in your web browser using your laptop or desktop computer and your registered email and password. This should open the Projects page.
- Click on any existing project from the sidebar menu at the left of the screen. A number of options should appear below the project name. To open the layers page click the
Edit Layers
option. - A list of layers should appear. Find the layer you would like to change and click on the following button from the options column
- A popup will appear. Update the name of the layer, and change the default colour as required. Click the
Update
button once complete to save your changes.
Changing the default layer
To change the default layer follow the steps below:
- Sign in to the Covram web app in your web browser using your laptop or desktop computer and your registered email and password. This should open the Projects page.
- Click on any existing project from the sidebar menu at the left of the screen. A number of options should appear below the project name. To open the layers page click the
Edit Layers
option. - A list of layers should appear. If you only have one layer present, follow the instructions to Create another layer.
- Find the layer you would like to make the new default layer and click on
- When a new boundary is created, it will now be added to the new default layer you have just selected. Confirm that the following badge is now shown next to the name of the layer: Default
Changing the layer order
To change the default layer follow the steps below:
- Sign in to the Covram web app in your web browser using your laptop or desktop computer and your registered email and password. This should open the Projects page.
- Click on any existing project from the sidebar menu at the left of the screen. A number of options should appear below the project name. To open the layers page click the
Edit Layers
option. - A list of layers should appear. If you only have one layer present, follow the instructions to Create another layer.
- Find the layer you would like to move. Click on the six dots in the
Reorder
column and drag to change the order. The number in the order column should update to reflect the change.
The first layer in the list (with an order value of 1) is the 'top' layer. The next layer (with order value 2) is 'underneath' the first layer, and so on.
Hide a layer
To hide a layer from view follow the steps below:
- Sign in to the Covram web app in your web browser using your laptop or desktop computer and your registered email and password. This should open the Projects page.
- Click on any existing project from the sidebar menu at the left of the screen. A number of options should appear below the project name. To open the layers page click the
Edit Layers
option. - A list of layers should appear. Find the layer you would like to hide and click on
- The layer will no longer be visible in the Covram web or mobile app. Confirm that the following badge is now shown in the 'Visibility' column: Hidden
Show a layer
To show a layer which has previously been hidden follow the steps below:
- Sign in to the Covram web app in your web browser using your laptop or desktop computer and your registered email and password. This should open the Projects page.
- Click on any existing project from the sidebar menu at the left of the screen. A number of options should appear below the project name. To open the layers page click the
Edit Layers
option. - A list of layers should appear. Find the layer you would like to show and click on
- The layer will now be visible again in the Covram web or mobile app. Confirm that the following badge is now shown in the 'Visibility' column: Visible
