Creating Layers

Learn how to create a new layer

In situations where you need to overlay one boundary on top of another multiple map layers are required. For example you may have an existing boundary around a paddock, and wish to indicate that only a certain part of that paddock is impacted by weeds. For instances like this you would need to create a new layer. New map layers can be created in the Covram web app only.

Using the Covram web app

To create a new layer follow the steps below:

  1. Sign in to the Covram web app in your web browser using your laptop or desktop computer and your registered email and password. This should open the Projects page.
  2. Click on any existing project from the sidebar menu at the left of the screen. A number of options should appear below the project name. To open the layers page click the Edit Layers option.
  3. A list of layers should appear. Click on the following button:
  4. A popup will appear. Enter the name of the new layer, and the default colour you would like to apply to each boundary added to the layer. If you would like the new layer to be the default layer, select the checkbox.
For more information on the default layer click here.
