Creating visits

Learn how to create a visit

Visits are created using the Covram Field App, on a mobile device or in a browser at app.covram.com.au. The steps depend on whether the site already exists.

On a mobile device, Covram needs your location before you can start. In a browser, location is set for each photo instead, using the photo's own location data, a point you pick on the map or coordinates you enter.

Create a visit at a new site

  1. Open the Covram Field App. A map should appear with a blue marker indicating your current location. If you can see a list of projects, tap on a project to enter the map view.
  2. Tap the Add button in the bottom right corner.
  3. Tap Activity to start a new visit.
  4. In the Establish Site dialog, enter a Site Name that is unique within the project and will help you identify the site in future.
  5. Select a Site Type, then tap Create:
    • Point places the site at a single location.
    • Boundary asks you to draw the site's area by tapping points on the map.
  6. On the first page, search for an issue, or select one or more themes and then the relevant issues. These choices determine which activities, and so which forms, appear next.
  7. Swipe left to move through the pages and complete each form.
  8. On the final page, add at least one photo. You can create a new photopoint or link an existing one.
  9. Tap Save.
If your visit includes a vegetation assessment, Covram calculates a condition score, vegetation quality rating and VAST rating. To learn more about these click here.

Add a visit to an existing site

Returning to a site to complete another visit allows you to monitor change over time.

  1. Open the Covram Field App and enter the map view for your project.
  2. Tap the marker of the existing site. A popup will appear with the site name.
  3. Tap the popup to open the Site Details screen, which shows the site's themes, issues, monitoring indicators and previous visits.
  4. Tap the Add Inspection button in the bottom right corner.
  5. Review the themes and issues on the first page, then swipe left to move through the pages and complete each form.
  6. On the final page, add at least one photo. When adding to an existing photopoint, choose Take a new photo to line up the new photo with the last one.
  7. Tap Save. The new visit will be listed under Previous Inspections on the Site Details screen.
