Joining a project

Learn how you are added to someone else's project, and what to do if it doesn't appear

A project belongs to its Project Administrator. To work in someone else's project, the Project Administrator adds you to it using your email address. What happens next depends on whether you already have a Covram account.

If you already have an account

You are added to the project straight away, and Covram doesn't send you an email. The project appears in your list of projects the next time you open the Projects page in the Covram Dashboard, or open your projects in the Covram Field App.

If you don't have an account yet

Covram sends an email to the address the Project Administrator entered. It says who invited you and to which project, and it has two ways to get started:

On a laptop or desktop computer, use the Create Account link to create an account on the Covram Dashboard.
On a mobile device, use the App Store or Google Play button to install the Covram Field App, then create an account.

Create your account using the same email address that the invitation was sent to. Covram matches the invitation to your account by that address. If you register with a different address, the project won't appear.

When you create your account and sign in, the project is added to your account and appears in your list of projects. This works the same way in the Covram Dashboard and the Covram Field App, and you don't need to use the Covram Field App first.

If you can't see the project

Check which email address you used. It must be the address the invitation was sent to. If you have more than one address, such as a work and a personal one, check which one received the email.
Sign out and sign in again, then open the Projects page.
Check your email is verified. If your seven days have passed and the address isn't verified, you can see the project but can't open it. See verify your email address.
Ask the Project Administrator to check the invitation. In the project's users list your address should show with the status Invite before you sign up, and Active afterwards. If it is missing, they can add it again. If you signed up with a different address, ask them to invite that one. See managing users.
