Editing Boundaries

Learn how to edit an existing boundary

Existing boundaries can be edited using the Covram mobile app or Covram web app. We would recommend using the Covram web app for detailed editing due to the larger screen and ability to use a mouse.

Using the Covram mobile app

To edit an existing boundary follow the steps below:

  1. Open the Covram mobile app on your device. A map should appear with a blue marker indicating your current location. If you instead see a list of projects, tap on any project with an existing boundary to enter the map view.
  2. Locate the boundary you would like to edit. This may involve zooming in or out on the map - To zoom out pinch the screen with two fingers, to zoom in stretch the screen with two fingers. To move to another part of the map drag the screen.
  3. To enable edit mode tap and hold your finger inside the boundary you would like to edit. After a couple of seconds small boxes will appear in the corners of the boundary and small circles will appear in the centre of the connecting lines. To adjust the position of the corners of the boundary drag the small boxes, or to create a new corner drag the small circles shown on each connecting line.
  4. When you are satisfied with the shape of the new boundary tap the Save button in the bottom right corner of the screen.
  5. The small boxes, circles and connecting lines should disappear, and you will be left with the updated boundary outline. The boundary has been successfully updated.

Using the Covram web app

To edit an existing boundary follow the steps below:

  1. Sign in to the Covram web app in your web browser using your laptop or desktop computer and your registered email and password. This should open the Projects page.
  2. Click on any existing project from the sidebar menu at the left of the screen. A number of options should appear below the project name. Click the Edit Boundaries option.
  3. A map should appear centred on your current location. Locate the boundary you would like to edit. This may involve zooming in or out on the map, or moving the map to another location.
  4. To enable edit mode, click the Edit Layers button (the second option in the toolbar located in the top left of the map screen). When Edit Layers is clicked, large circles will appear at the corners of each boundary, and smaller circles will appear in the centre of each connecting boundary edge. To move the location of a corner, click and drag the larger circle. To add a new corner to the boundary, click and drag the smaller circles.
  5. When you are satisfied with the shape of the new boundary click on the Edit Layers button a second time to disable edit mode.
  6. Click on the Save Changes button to save the updated boundary to project.
