Sites and photopoints on the map

Learn how sites and photopoints appear on the map, how to open them, what to do when markers overlap, and how to change marker colours

Sites and photopoints appear on the map as markers. In the Covram Dashboard, sites are blue and photopoints are grey by default.

Open a site or photopoint

  1. Click the marker on the map. A popup shows Site or Photopoint and its name.
  2. Click the name in the popup to open the site or photopoint page.

Clicking a site marker also highlights the site's boundaries and areas on the map.

When markers overlap

A site sits at the same location as its first photopoint, and photopoints taken close together can overlap on the map. When you click a marker with others on top of it, the popup says N items here and lists them all. Each row shows an icon (a pin for a site and a camera for a photopoint), the type, the name and an arrow. Click a row to open that site or photopoint.

Zooming in separates markers that are close together, but a site and its first photopoint always stay on the same spot.

Marker colours

You can give each site and photopoint its own colour. Colours can mean whatever suits your project, such as one colour for each type of photopoint, or for the type of activity recorded at a site.

  1. Open the Covram Field App and enter the map view of your project.
  2. Tap the site or photopoint to open its preview.
  3. Tap Edit, then Edit marker colour.
  4. Choose a colour and save.

The colour you choose shows in the Covram Dashboard as well. A site or photopoint that you haven't changed keeps the Dashboard's default colour. While a data filter is applied, the filter's colours are shown instead.

To change the default colours, or to show markers as circles, see map settings.
