Filtering the map
Learn how to colour the sites and photopoints on the map by VAST rating, threatened species, ecological communities, evidence of Aboriginal culture and photopoint tags
A data filter changes the colours of the markers on the map so you can see patterns across a project. For example, you could see which sites have a low VAST rating, or which have a threatened species recorded.
Apply a filter
- Open the project map in the Covram Dashboard.
- Click
Apply Filterbelow the map. - In the
Data Filterdialog, choose a filter, and then choose its options if it has any. - Click
Apply.
A key on the map explains the colours. To change the filter click Edit Filter, and to go back to the usual colours click Clear Filter.
The filters
| Filter | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Photopoint Tags | Photopoints coloured by their tags. See tags. |
| VAST Rating | Each site coloured by its latest VAST rating. Very High is blue, High is green, Moderate is yellow, Low - Moderate is orange and Low is red. |
| Significant/Threatened Species | Choose a species. Sites where it has been recorded are red (Present) and the other sites are grey (Not present). If you don't choose one, sites with any threatened species recorded are red. |
| Endangered Ecological Community (EEC) | Choose a community. Sites where it has been recorded are red and the other sites are grey. If you don't choose one, sites with any community recorded are red. |
| Evidence of Aboriginal Culture | Choose a type of evidence, such as scarred trees, middens or stone tools. Sites where it has been recorded are red and the other sites are grey. |
The site filters change the colours of the site markers. Photopoint markers stay as they are. The photopoint tags filter changes the photopoint markers.
The species, community and culture filters use what has been recorded in the visits at each site.
