What the audit log records
The audit log is a history of the changes made to a site, visit or photopoint. For each change it records who made it, when, and which fields changed. Use it to answer questions such as "who changed this?" or "who added this photo?".
The audit log is in the Covram Dashboard.
Where to find it
Open a site, a visit or a photopoint in the Covram Dashboard and look for the Audit Log card. Click it to open the list of changes. A number next to the title shows how many changes are recorded.
Anyone who is on the project can read the audit log. No one can edit or delete an entry, including the Project Administrator.
What it records
| Change | Recorded for |
|---|---|
| Created | Sites, visits and photopoints |
| Updated, with the fields that changed | Sites, visits and photopoints |
| A photo added | Photopoints |
| A photo rotated | Visits and photopoints |
| Deleted and restored | Visits |
The audit log records changes made in the Covram Field App and in the Covram Dashboard. It is built automatically, so you don't have to do anything for a change to be recorded.
What it doesn't record
- The old and new values. It tells you which fields changed, not what they were changed from and to.
- Looking at a record. Only changes are recorded.
- Behind-the-scenes updates. Automatic updates that you didn't make, such as checking a photo, are not recorded as edits.
- Changes before the audit log existed. A record that hasn't been changed since the audit log was introduced in 2026 shows
No audit history recorded for this record.
