Creating Inspections

Learn how to create an inspection

Inspections can only be created using the Covram mobile app. The process used to create an inspection will depend on whether there is an existing site where the inspection is being completed.

The steps below explain how to complete a Quick Inspection. The process of complete a Detailed Inspection follows the same general process, but offers a wider variety of fields. To learn more about the differences between Quick and Detailed Inspections click here.

Create a new quick inspection

To create a new quick inspection where there is no existing site follow the steps below:

  1. Open the Covram mobile app on your device. A map should appear with a blue marker indicating your current location. If you can see a list of projects, tap on any project to enter the map view.
  2. Tap the + Add button in the bottom right corner.
  3. Tap the Veg Score (Quick Inspection) button from the options which appear.
  4. Complete the Assessor and Site Name fields. The site name should be unique, and allow you to identify the site in future.
  5. To proceed to the next page of the inspection swipe your screen to the left. The Vegetation Information page should appear.
  6. Select from the dropdown options which appear to complete your vegetation assessment. Once all fields have been completed the app will calculate a condition score, vegetation quality rating and vast rating. Swipe your screen to the left to proceed to the next page on the inspection.

  7. Select one or more monitoring indicators from the available options that you will use to monitor change at the site and tap Ok.
  8. Tap the Take a photo button to open the camera on your device. Tap Allow or Accept if the app requests access.
  9. Take a photo using your device and accept the image when prompted.
  10. Tap the Save button to save your inspection. This will return you to the project view page. A new site marker should now be visible on the map at your current location.

Add a new inspection to an existing site

Once a site has been established using the steps above, you may wish to return to the same point to complete a follow up (or monitoring) inspection. These will be added to the existing site, allowing you to easily monitor change over time.

To add a new quick inspection to an existing site:

  1. Open the Covram mobile app on your device. A map should appear with a blue marker indicating your current location. If you can see a list of projects, tap on any project to enter the map view.
  2. Find the marker of the existing site and tap on the marker. A popup will appear with the site name.
  3. Tap on the popup a second time to open the site detail screen. The site details screen contains the site name, monitoring indicators for the site, and links to any previous inspections undertaken at the site.
  4. Tap on the + Add Inspection button in the bottom right corner of the screen.
  5. Tap the Veg Score (Quick Inspection) button from the options which appear.
  6. Complete the Assessor field.
  7. To proceed to the next page of the inspection swipe your screen to the left. The Vegetation Information page should appear.
  8. Select from the dropdown options which appear to complete your vegetation assessment. Once all fields have been completed the app will calculate a condition score, vegetation quality rating and vast rating. Swipe your screen to the left to proceed to the next page on the inspection.
  9. Tap the Take a photo button to open the camera on your device. Tap Allow or Accept if the app requests access to your camera.
  10. Take a photo using your device and accept the image when prompted.
